Common Dreams We See And Their Meanings
Common Dreams We See And Their Meanings
Psychology
I saw a dream last night that I can't even begin to explain here and the first thing that came to my mind was asking you the meaning of the common, yet weird, dreams that we see.
I will dream that you replied to me.
Thanks,
Dear Crazy Dreamer!
Dreams are as much a part of our life as reality. However, we don't always dream of what we want to become in life, or where do we want to go for a long vacation. Some dreams are just absurd, and when we wake up in the morning, we feel like scratching our heads to know what exactly was it what we saw in our subconscious.
Dreams are in actuality a direct communication from our sub-conscious mind. This communication is given to us in form of symbols, signs, images, etc. Sleep is a state when our sub-conscious mind can communicate directly with us without the interference from the conscious logical mind as it is asleep.
Though we are no oneirologists, but we have still come up with a list of five common dreams that people have and their possible explanations. However, these explanations are generic in nature and everyone of us can have a very specific meaning for each dream that we have.
Seeing Yourself Being Chased
At some point we have all had the dream of being chased and in some cases we even wake up panting. The logic behind such dreams is that in your life, you are trying to escape a change that is either happening to you, or is about to happen. This escape can be from a person, an event or something that you have started to feel off late. If you have been actually chased in your life, this dream might just be a memory of that day.
Seeing Yourself Dying
Seeing your death in dream is a bad indication of something bad that is about to happen in your life. Again a horrifying belief that our grannies made us believe, although it is completely baseless. Such dreams reflect that you are going through a deep and emotional pain in life. Seeing the death of someone else means that you are either afraid to lose them or you want them out of your life. It might also be common to have death dreams if you have recently lost someone near to you.
Seeing Yourself Falling
Contrary to the popular beliefs that our loving grandmothers put in our ears when we were young, falling dreams don't mean that we are going to die. A falling dream is the way of your subconscious mind to tell you that you are not completely in control or looking for an emotional support in your life. A missing anchor from your life often results in seeing yourself falling off a cliff. Perhaps your dream is trying to tell you that it's time to find an emotional support in life.
Seeing Yourself Flying
If you see yourself flying like a free happy bird, you are in a happy phase of life, in complete control of your life and actions, and you could not have asked for more. However, if you see that you are desperate to gain some balance, and despite flying it is feeling like falling, then you are again, looking for a support in life, and are not sure about whatever is happening in your life.
Seeing Yourself Naked
The most possible explanation to why someone would be embarrassed to share their dreams, naked dreaming is a very common phenomenon and it also has an easily comprehensible meaning. If you see yourself naked in a dream, you are feeling ashamed and embarrassed in your life. Some people also claim to see naked dreams after they tell someone a deep secret of their life, and are unsure of whether they took the right step or not. Also, you are more likely to get naked dreams a few days before your marriage, and we are not going into the details for that.
