question used to drive me NUTS.

That question used to drive me NUTS.

I thought, "how dare you to assume who a person is, what they care about, enjoy, and believe in because of the work they do".

Seriously, how many people do you think are creatively inspired and tackling challenges they find most meaningful for companies and clients that perfectly align with their personal passions and interests?

Hint: it's not many.

It's taken me more than a DECADE to finally understand the few people who have crafted their careers to align their minds and mission with their company or clients.

10+ years of struggling to find a fitting role and the right clients to feel comfortable and confident in that the work that I do.

That my efforts and ideas are heard and recognized.

That I am making a meaningful impact.

It took years of uncertainty. Many moments of being scared or depressed, not knowing which direction to go or how to move forward, even if I did know what I wanted.

The downright truth is that finding fulfillment in your career is a perpetual challenge.

So what's different about today?

Now, I have a process to manage that challenge.

I have a framework for progress.

I no longer feel stuck.

No longer dread the unknown.

No longer fear uncertainty in my career because I have a framework that keeps me:

producing new ideas
creatively expressing myself
continuously learning
connecting with likeminded people
seizing new opportunities
growing personally through professional experiences
In the last 3 years, I went from hating going to the office and feeling stifled in my role, feeling unbalanced between work and family, and randomly looking at jobs on LinkedIn, editing my resume to fit a particular role. Confused, drained, and uninspired.

NOW, I'm able to explore ideas more freely.

Take on projects I find most challenging and attractive.

I have a support system for fueling creativity.

I'm able to choose to work with clients who fit the profile of what I do best.

And I've built a circle of influence, where I can both meet my mentors and motivate others to grow.

I'm able to work from anywhere, and flex how much and when I work.

I have the mindset to continuously learn, grow, and experience a life where my career and the work I do are one and the same.

I KNOW that the world seems broken right now.

It's in those times of change, unrest, and uncertainty when I've learned something new about myself and worked my way toward personal beliefs, purpose, and intentions.

It's up to people like you and groups like this to lead the way by stepping into the future with an intention to be healthier and happier, in body & mind, society, and in the work we do.

We need to revolt against spending our days and hours doing things that don't inspire us just because that's what we got a degree in. Just because some guidance counselor when we were 18 told us that we could, "Have a stable job and make a good paycheck".

We need to get back to having an imagination. Building great big things. Innovating great big ideas.

We need to get back to bucking the status quo.

Know where it all starts?

It starts with a random idea.

It starts with that one little spark of an idea you had 3 days ago and ignored.

It starts with you taking that idea and trying it out. Exploring it further. Doodling it on a napkin.

Who cares if it works? Right now that's not even the point.

We’re in the midst of a major shift impacting how we integrate our lives into the way we work and it's time for you to take action.

It starts with…you.

Today, I'm going to show you exactly how to get started doing this by finding your focus, unleashing your creativity, and unlocking growth opportunities you never knew existed.

But first, let's recap the last few days:

You identified what's been keeping you from crafting and controlling your own career.
You shared your ideas, motivation, and confidence in making them happen.

Whether you work with a big brand or for yourself, in order to lead your career through the lens of your personal priorities, it requires 4 things:

consistent attention
ideation
thoughtfulness
action
feedback from others

These are the first steps to aligning your brain with your brand and your convictions with your career. But the truth is, all of this can be hard.

Exploring.

Creating.

Connecting.

Building.

All of it is extremely taxing and difficult to navigate.

That's why I shared the 6 launch myths with you the other day, to help you avoid doing things that kill your chance of making it.

They were:

Myth #1: Thinking that you have to have the perfect idea in order for you to succeed.

Myth #2: Thinking you have to figure out everything yourself (the hard way) to be successful.

Myth #3: Thinking that creating something outside of a resume and doing something different has to be an exhausting and time-consuming process.

Myth #4: Thinking you have to have a massive following or some high-profile role already to make your ideas work.

Myth #5: Thinking that you have to have to KNOW exactly the job you want or have a product finished before you start building your ideas.

Myth #6: Thinking you don't have what it takes. That you have to be a special unicorn to make it happen

What if you could reach the same result with way less time or money?

Today I want to help you do exactly that.

You in?

Here is the plan: Don’t overthink things. You need to have a bias toward action.

So, here is what you need to do right now (not tomorrow or 15-minutes from now, right now)...

Step #1: Take this free personality test: 16 Personalites

This will help you define your mind and discover what's unique special about you. It will provide insight for your motivations and build context for your character by offering language to own your perspective.

Step #2: Write down 5 of each: Strengths, Interests, and Skills.

Step #3: Download and complete the What's Important to You? tool.

Step #4: Head to LinkedIn (I'm sure you have an account) and post something you just learned about yourself. SHARE!

Step #5: Engage with the people who comment or like the post.

So, that’s your homework for today.

This is an example of an efficient model for:

producing new ideas
creatively expressing yourself
continuously learning
connecting with likeminded people
When you set yourself in motion on this framework to learn, express yourself, share ideas publicly, attract and connect with others, you will uncover new opportunities based on the things that interest and matter to you.

Having a LinkedIn profile with posts & articles you've published is like having a personal agent who finds career opportunities for you 24/7.

The thing that happens which you don’t see until you write and share online is that your content engages some of the smartest people who are lurking around the internet. And they reach out to you.

Some of the best marketers out there understand this model:

"the professional is personal, and personal is the professional" - Victoria Taylor, Senior Editor, Community at LinkedIn News

Sharing these thoughts by writing online creates a context for who you are.
By doing this regularly, you will attract like-minded, and interested folks who may want to learn and hear more from you.
They become fans, followers, clients, or customers.
You are now a thought leader with influence.
If you're not doing this, you're leaving the perception of yourself completely up to others.
Whether you're shifting roles, pursuing a new career, running an independent business, or exploring hobbies and new business ideas - sharing online is the most direct way to grow your knowledge, expand your network and enhance your opportunities.

I'm excited to share this with you today. Thanks for being here.

Cheers,
