"Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible"
"Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing".
This is a quote from Albert Schweitzer that I came across recently. If you are totally on purpose with your own life, others will follow. Look closely at the characteristics of your own successful heroes and you will begin to see that all of them are being true to their own passion and goals in life.
In a wild herd of African game, it takes a strong leader with a passion to boldly change direction of the mass herd by just turning maybe to the left or right, but that action is seen by the herd as a signal and others immediately follow. Soon the whole herd is headed in a new direction because of the actions of one strong minded wildebeest or zebra.
Think about recent great leaders such as JK Rowling. She was simply a single mother with a child struggling to get by on social welfare, when she started her best selling novel series. What drove her to ignore all her own difficulties, worries and life issues to focus so intensely on creating what became the best selling series of novels in human history, with over 450 million worldwide, with 9 million being sold in 24 hours alone ...that is quite some following!
Your own contribution to life on this planet does not need to be so extreme, but if you want to find this kind of passion within yourself, you need stop just reacting to life and start designing your life, by firstly being totally on purpose. We are actually living in an amazing time in history where we have such opportunity and advantages in our society, admittedly some societies have more than others, but still most people do not take advantage of a fraction of what is available to them in their lifetime - don't miss out on your own opportunities.
Firstly, to get going you need to focus on your own mind and the thinking patterns that you have; analyse your own beliefs and determine what you want to achieve and why you have been stopped from achieving that in your life so far? Look through your own confusion and take control of your own intention and reason. You will come across resistance, but just brush it aside and move forward. Determination and focus will carry you through.
I would like to finish this article by a quote from Saint Francis of Assisi "Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible"
